How the OPCA clinic model is structured, from the brand’s May 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document and franchise overview.
OPCA was built by a third-generation practitioner. Its affiliate Yale Surgical has operated under its name since 1923 and runs two orthotic and prosthetic clinics in Connecticut.
Each clinic keeps a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist on staff at all times, so clinical care stays with credentialed practitioners while the owner, or an approved Clinic Director, runs the business.
Each OPCA clinic leases a 3D printer for producing test sockets, with patient scanning done on an iPad or iPhone. Final fabrication can be completed in-office or at a lab of the owner’s choice.
Orthotic and prosthetic care is driven by medical need, not discretionary spending. Patients return for regular follow-ups, replacement liners and sockets, and a new prosthesis every few years.
OPCA pairs B2B referral relationships within the medical community, including physicians, vascular surgeons, hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, with direct-to-consumer advertising through Meta ads and SEO.
According to OPCA, one CPO, admin and sales team can support up to four locations. Each clinic receives a Protected Area, and owners can sign a development agreement for two or more clinics.
